WELCOME TO THE GT-R SHRINE

As you can tell by the title, my dream wheels is The Nissan Skyline GT-R (BNR33) with 276 horses under its bonnet which we all know actually gives out more. The modest output is due to Japanese regulation that you can't have more than 276bhp for a road fairing car. The Skyline was born in 1957 and the tradition carries on until the 10th generation which was unveiled in 1999. I have compiled a write out cum pictorial essay on the amazing history of the Skyline. Please feel free to send me pics of the earlier generation skylines as they do come in pretty rare.

The Skyline GT-R is arguably Japan's most popular sports car. It is powered by an intercooled twin turbo 2.6 litre in-line six which produces 206kW@6800rpm and 368Nm@4400rpm. These figures don't even hint at the GT-R's performance credentials. The GT-R V-SPEC is driven through a complex 4WD system called (ATTESA E-TS Pro) which considers drive and brake forces and precisely distributes torque independently to each of the four wheels to ensure maximum grip in all conditions and at all times! A complex system also controls the steering angle of the rear wheels according to the vehicle's speed and Yaw rate. The result of such integrated advanced technology is that the GT-R is next to Porsche's 911 turbo (which is 3.6 litres) as being the world's fastest production turbo 4WD car!!!

What we all do know that the Skyline is a beast waiting to be unleashed as the inline-six twin turbo engine can be pushed to horsepowers near the 1000's. An excellent example of this is the Veilside Skyline (yeah those people who made those crazy ass COMBAT kits) which it is powered by HKS Turbos, a six speed transimision that gives about 980bhp. It does the quarter mile in about 10.1 sec. Oh yeah did I tell you this car is street legal in Japan. And if that's not enough Trust have the RX-SROC that churns out 1006 bhp!!! Now that's what I call addicted to speed.
