R34 GT-R

The Beast is back! The new Skyline GT-R (R34) has been released. Test drives are available at your local dealership (well, if you live in Japan). Among the noteworthy feature changes is the new 6-speed tranny and a host of other refinements, including underbody aero aids. The center console digital display is interesting also, with many capabilities. For instance, in one setting you can keep an eye on boost, throttle opening, injector flow, oil temperature, water temperature, exhaust temperature and intercooler temperature. It'll also keep a log of those various readouts, plus far, far more. Given the torque curves that are being published, officially it makes no more than 280ps, but given that the old model was known to put out 320ps, a somewhat more accurate assessment would be 350ps. All that's been done up to this point is some circuit testing by various car personalities and race drivers, but unanimously it's felt to be a faster, better car than the previous GT-R.
